Leader training

The Australian Adult Leadership Program is designed to train Leaders using a combination of self-paced modules, training courses and mentoring from an experienced leader.
The AALP assists adult members to develop leadership skills and Guiding knowledge, and gives recognition to those who demonstrate their competence in the leadership role.

There are three steps to becoming a Qualified Leader:

Leadership Development

A general introduction to leadership skills including  communication, needs of girls, developing plans, providing a safe environment.

Leadership Qualification

Leaders choose one of three strands depending on their intended role – Leader of Youth, Leader of Adults or Resource Leader. Leadership Qualification includes some core modules and some modules specific to the Leader’s role.

On completion Leaders are recognised as Qualified Leaders.

Further development

covers a wide range of skills, knowledge and activities and provide opportunities for personal development. A certificate is awarded for each Further Development Module completed.
