Iceblocking

Locations: Lights Vision, Montefiore Hill, North Adelaide

Cost: $5 per block of ice (including rope handle) from Wingfield Ice.  Note they close at 3pm and its best to call ahead and ensure they have iceblocks in stock.

Ages: 5-30 years

Girls usually need to bring: a towel, sneakers, uniform top (great PR)

Tips:  Bring a water container to wash down the ice if it gets too dirty.  Using a large banner on the hill can protect the grass and get the iceblocks off to a great start.  Some Units own banners you can use - perhaps you could put a notice on the notice board asking to borrow one.  Inviting parents along gives you lots of extra lookouts and helpers!

Rockclimbing - Indoor

Locations:  Vertical Reality Climbing, Holden Hill

Girls usually need to bring: a drink bottle, enclosed shoes

Tips: VRC requires that children under 13 have a parent/guardian to belay that children under 18 need a membership agreement signed by a parent/guardian.  Guide policy states a a Leader must not sign an insurance waiver on behalf of a Guide or a group of Guides.  VRC have special rates for Guide groups so make sure you mention who you are when you book.
