 Donations and Bequests

Your donation helps us to bring Guiding to as many South Australian girls as possible. Donations are used to purchase equipment for use by all Guides, through special projects designed to support Guides, and provide professional development to Leaders.

Guide Leaders do an invaluable community service through supporting and encouraging girls to grow into fulfilled and effective individuals. By making a bequest from your estate, you are helping us to support girls in our community.

You can elect to make your donation purpose specific or district specific, or for the Association in general.

After providing for family and friends in your Will, an increasing number of people are considering leaving a proportion of their estate to help others in their local community. Bequeathing an amount of money or property in your Will is a relatively simple process.

There are a number of different ways in which bequest can go to Girl Guides SA:

     - a pecuniary bequest, which is a fixed amount specified in a Will
       - a gift of shares or property, which are exempt from capital gains tax
       - a residuary bequest, where the remaining value of an estate when all other bequests to family and friends have been made and liabilities have been paid
       - a reversionary bequest, which allows a surviving partner to benefit from an estate during his or her lifetime and then, for the balance of the estate to be paid to Girl Guides SA on their death.

If you wish to make a bequest to Girl Guides SA, we advise you to speak to your Solicitor who, with us, will assist you draft the terms of your gift.

Our greatest need is in the areas of Leadership recruitment and Leader support. Your gift will help us to fulfill many dreams and aspirations, and we welcome your contact. Please contact Guide House for more information on 8418 0900.
