Cork Recycling

Location: Indoors

When: all year

Guides collect corks for recycling.  Guide House has cork collection boxes you can put in your local council office, library, pub, shopping centre etc.  This is great PR as well as being a fundraiser for your Unit.

Once collected corks need to be sorted.  Rubbish, plastic corks and hybrids need to be taken out.  It can make a great 10 minute activity during Guides!

Clean Up Australia Day

Earth Hour

Location: Indoors / Anywhere

For one hour cities across the world turn off their lights, sending a powerful global message that it's possible to take united action on global warming.

Mobile Recycling

Location: Indoors

When: all year

Guides now collect Mobiles for recycling.  You could run a campaign in your Unit encouraging families in your neighbourhood to recycle their phones.
