Girl Guides is a unique girls-only environment that provides a safe place to learn and grow.
During school terms Girl Guides will meet once a week in a dedicated hall or community space for 1-2 hours. Guides also meet for excursions, camps, guiding events and community appearances, and while you’re having so much fun, you’ll also be earning badges that celebrate and recognise the things you do and achieve as a Girl Guide.
Guides are structured into Units according to youth ages. Within each Unit are Patrols of up to 6 Guides.
Guides plan their own activities with support from volunteer women called Adult Leaders. Activities vary from week to week and from Unit to Unit.
Units may choose a skill or interest area to focus on with each Patrol planning activities and joining in the fun.
Guides are encouraged to ‘be their best’ when helping run special events together, ‘be prepared’ when working on Challenge badges and applaud each other with a loud ‘bravo’ when that special Award is achieved.
Girl Guides love adventures in the outdoors. Guide Leaders promote physical challenges, resilience, teamwork and self-confidence. Guides learn that girls can do anything, their only limit is their imagination
